Winter has come to Leavenworth

(Just a reminder we have migrated our blog over to Wordpress if you would like to save that new site! There is a "Subscribe Now" button on the left hand side of the wordpress site where you can be notified by email when new posts are up! enjoy!)
Winter has gently settled into the Ranch and the new season is fully upon us. As I write this I am watching the snow fall down in preparation for tomorrows Winter Wedding.
The Christmas Lighting Festival in Leavenworth, Washington is ‘what’s happening’ each Saturday and Sunday for the next couple weeks in downtown Leavenworth. We just had a last minute cancelation for a room THIS WEEKEND if the calendar is open and you want to take advantage of some great christmas shopping, festive celebrations and delicious food. Book a Suite Now. It might be nice to do something spontaneous and enjoy a romantic weekend, when was the last time you did that?
A hint to the best viewing is to come watch the Christmas Lighting Festival on a Sunday night. The town of Leavenworth is not nearly as crowded and drive home is also less crowded on either pass. Another option is to come mid-week as the crowds are very minimal, although they do not have the ‘ceremony’ of the tree lighting, every light in town is on all night thru-out the holiday season (except Friday nights).
If you are able to join us this winter at Pine River Ranch we have just finished installing a new warm wood burning fireplace in the common area at the Ranch and the feel of wood heat resonates thru-out the main house. Guests are finding this a great place to huddle up with their friends and chat or play Scrabble among other things.
You can also join us on Friday nights for a laid back wine and cheese tasting in the main house. Sample local wines and cheeses from Leavenworth and purchase your favorite cheese that comes complementary with a bottle of wine to take back to your room.
We received about 3 inches of fresh snow last night and the silence of the snow falling reminds us all of one of the many reasons why we live in the country. Twenty minutes West to skiing at Stevens Pass or 20 minutes East to watch the wonderland of lights in Leavenworth, yet we are right smack dab in the middle of nowhere. Quiet, restful, romantic, it just doesn’t get any better if “getting away” is what you are really looking for.
