Fall Wedding at Pine River Ranch, Leavenworth Washington

With the romance of the holidays filling the air, 'tis the season for engagements! December marks the most popular time to pop the question and with Christmas, New Years and Valentine's Day coming right up we are  ready to fill our 2013 calendar at Pine River Ranch and "save the date" in 2014. With the summer of 2013 quickly filling I wanted to share this beautiful October Wedding for those couples that have their hearts set on 2013, but aren't sure about a fall wedding. October is quickly becoming one of the more popular wedding months in Leavenworth. The weather is a bit more cooperative and predictable than our Seattle counterparts (meaning less chances of rain!) and the fall leaves make for simply stunning photographs. Another factor that draws in many of our out of town guests is the famous Oktoberfestcelebration that the town of Leavenworth comes alive for. Two day destination weddings where family members can get together for Oktoberfest, golfing, rafting or many of the other Leavenworth activities before the rehearsal dinner are on a rise!

This October at Pine River Ranch, Leavenworth refused to accept that fall was here. The wildflowers were still in full bloom and we were blessed with beautiful sunny days. Talk of pumpkin spice lattes, scarves and crisp mornings were buzzing about and mid-October the leaves had begun to change.  This gorgeous October 22nd wedding at Pine River Ranch was sent to us by Shane Wilder over at Skipow Photography and I thought it was the perfect way to show our future brides and grooms what a fall wedding looks like here in Leavenworth. Shane did a great job of capturing the vibrant colors of the fall leaves.
I loved the fall colors of the bridesmaids dresses.

With a wedding at Pine River Ranch there is always a back-up plan if Mother Nature decides not to cooperate on your big day. The ceremony can take place inside our fully restored 1944 dairy barn and our staff can quickly transition the seating to your reception setting after the ceremony. Rustic Chic Barn Wedding, Pink Roses and Little Black Dresses

Welcome to Emily and Adam's rustic chic October wedding. Thank you so much to Emily (and Adam) who provided me with some wonderful details about their big day!

The Pacific Northwest weather was absolutely perfect for their wedding day, and if you remember talented photographer Saskia Mizushima (from Tom and Jenny's Tandem Bicycle Themed Wedding) you know how well she does at capturing that beautiful sunlight! In case you haven't seen what I think of as her "signature shot" at Pine River Ranch feast your eyes on this yumminess:
Isn't that lovely! I think the word "yummy" can describe a photo perfectly with that kind of lighting. I fell in love with Adam and Emily's beautiful wedding from the first photo. The light pink flowers and little black dresses are the perfect idea of country chic.

How you Met: Adam and I were introduced by a mutual friends mom...Maureen.  Adam went to college with her son Chase and I have know Maureen since I was young growing up in MT.  She approached me once when I was home to tell me about this guy that I had to meet.  Meanwhile, she was giving the same story to Adam when he was out visiting in MT one summer.  Needless to say, Adam and I ended up eventually connecting in Seattle and loved spending time together and it progressed from there!

I loved the simplicity of the little black dress and thought the bridesmaids looked absolutely stunning as well! As for the groomsmen, the shoes did it for me. Perfect!

Inspiration for the wedding/approach to your wedding style: Our main theme going into the wedding was "no stress" and simple yet beautiful.  We wanted to have our friends and family enjoy the trip over from MT/Western WA and to be able to fully enjoy the party!!  It also was important to us to have our families in one place for the entire weekend.  Having grown up in MT I loved the idea of having the wedding at Pine River Ranch for the "rustic" but beautiful setting.  Adam still wanted to consider a destination wedding however, once we traveled to Leavenworth to tour the PRR we both fell in love!  The main approach to our wedding style was we wanted to keep it simple yet elegant and romantic.  We both focused a lot of our planning on the lighting (time of day for the ceremony and soft lighting inside the barn) to have good ambiance and simple details that were "us."
Adam and Emily enjoyed some time before the ceremony to wonder about our 22 acre property and capture some great photos. I love the lighting, and they way they are looking at each other is absolute perfection. Pine River Ranch Weddings, Leavenworth WA (13)They incorporated the fall pumkins into their decor and the signs directing guests to the ceremony were perfect for a barn wedding.Pine River Ranch Weddings, Leavenworth WA (6)
Your favorite detail/decoration: We loved loved loved our home brews and tap/barrel that our good friends made special for us for our wedding!  I also loved all of the aisle decorations that we used later as center pieces for the tables.  My step mom also sewed a bunch of quilt blocks that we had people sign as our guest book.  She will put all the blocks together into a quilt that we will have forever!

What was your favorite part of the day:
There were so many!!  I think my favorite part of the day was walking out behind the barn to my soon to be husband for the first look.  Adam says that his most favorite part of the day was standing together at the altar in the sun knowing that we were going to be married.  He said, "it was the most intense emotions I have ever felt"

Trick or Treat! Emily and Adam put an elegant spin on their Halloween themed candy bar
Now I can use the word "Yummy" to describe something other than lighting! Pine River Ranch Weddings, Leavenworth WA (7)After their first dance as husband and wife the party broke loose!
If you could tell a future bride one thing about the wedding planning or advice for the day of the wedding what would it be:  DON'T stress and don't micromanage.  The biggest thing to remember is that at the end of it all you will still be married to your love!  Also, delegate tasks!  People love to help and often times just need to be asked.  Our families were amazing at listening to "our vision" for our day and really running with it during prep and set-up!!
Adam and Emily, I enjoyed seeing your wedding photos and wish you two the best of luck in a long and loving future together! We hope to see you soon for your anniversary!!

Fall Wedding | Orange Calla Lilies, Woodsy Touches and a Proposal at 11,000 Feet!

Hello all, just wanted to remind you once again that I have migrated the blog over to www.prranch.com/wordpress! There is a subscription link on the side of our new blog that you can enter your email address and you will be notified when a new blog is posted!
Well, it looks like we have another stunning bride, a handsome groom and another beautiful rustic outdoor wedding to share with you. I love my job! :) I am skipping over a few [equally wonderful] summer weddings to share with you Kellie and Josh's amazing October Wedding at Pine River Ranch because the last of the crunchy red, orange and yellow leaves have fallen out of the trees and the snow is threatening to come down again! I wanted to sneak this fall wedding in before Leavenworth turns white with snow for the next few months.
Kellie and Josh's wedding showcases fall colors, rustic details and it was all captured by fabulous photographer Jadyn Welch. (We'll skip backwards into summer again next week when I am chilled to the bone sitting watching the snow fall and need a pick-me-up!)
(Also, just got a really neat subscription sign up over there <-- Just enter your email address and it will send you an email when we have a new post! And your address won't be used for anything else, I promise!)
The groomsman wore dark brown tuxes which looked great with the fall colors in the bridesmaids bouquets and decorations around the venue.
Orange Calla Lillies made the perfect flower choice for a fall wedding bouquet
Kellie and Josh took a stroll down to Nason Creek for some beautiful fall wedding shots! They weren't quite as brave as Emily and Ross, who took a dive in the creek during their October Wedding 3 years ago!
We also have a pond with a great little bridge and dock for photos!
Josh proposed to Kellie on TOP of a mountain at over 11,000 feet! How cool is that!?
The trail out to the river in the fall is beautiful!

The sun gods were looking down on Josh and Kellie for their big day. Despite the forecast calling for 100% chance of rain, we only saw a few drops during the day and the sun even broke through at times for some beautiful lighting during the ceremony.
I loved the floral arrangements in mason jars as aisle decorations on the chairs. I thought the pine cones were a great touch that was perfect for the fall!
Kellie and Josh had a unique idea at their ceremony. Instead of pouring sand into a vase or lighting a candle, they each poured dirt into a pot where they had planted a tree!
Being pronounced as husband and wife is something to dance about!
The decorations were very creative and reminded me of the Pacific Northwest, guests got to take home these unique candles.
Their yummy wedding cake was actually a cheesecake (my personal favorite ;) It was beautifully decorated sitting on log rounds
It looks like Josh is transitioning into married life very well ;) I think they will get along just fine!
After their big day, Kellie and Josh retreated to our Bed and Breakfast to start their honeymoon with a relaxing soak in their 2 person jacuzzi spabed and breakfastAs always any Photographers, Brides, Grooms and Family
who would like to share their wedding photos with me I would love to feature them! Just send them my way to ngourlie{at}yahoo.com
